Kitchen Tile Projects (I)

Kitchen Tile Projects (I)Do you have a kitchen that is outdated and in desperate need of an update? Perhaps you have ceramic tile in your kitchen that has a few damaged pieces. Maybe you are just ready for a change and want to try your hand at working with ceramic tile. No matter what the reason, installing new tile will make your kitchen look like a brand new room. In older homes, people have actually decided to replace their worn out carpeting in the kitchen only to discover the floor covered with ceramic tile. While the tile may be in great condition, to restore it to its natural beauty, it will need to be cleaned.

If just a few tiles are broken or cracked, you may be able to pull several pieces up, including the damaged ones, and replace with them with like or coordinating tile. If the tile were in bad shape, you would be better off pulling it all up and replacing it with new tile. If you find the tile usable, be sure not to use any type of chemical solvent or stripper to get rid of the carpet glue, as it will damage the tile. Instead, dry using dry ice or a heat gun to loosen the glue to where you can simply scrape it off.
