Garden Fountain at Campidoglio in Rome
If you visit the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome you will find three fountains of interest in this impressive square. This fountain each has a very interesting history. They’re not really in place in their current setting for that but each fountain has rich and diverse backgrounds. In fact, the sculptures you’ll see in the three fountains can trace their roots back to the early days of Christian Rome. The first of three water fountains that you may see in the piazza is the central fountain which led to the extraordinary palace of the senator.
Although originally planned by Michelangelo when he laid the design for the piazza, a fountain built in the reign only Sixtus V who diverted water supply from the Acqua Felice that could then supply a fountain. Original plans had been decided that this fountain will contain as a central figure of Jupiter, but is built around the figure of Minerva who stands as the leaders of Rome. Statue of Minerva had been partially restored in modern times but the torso was taken to Rome from Cori so big in fact historical significance.
In front of the Minerva fountain you’ll find a fountain adorned with statues of two river gods. The statue was actually a significant historical interest – not like losing many of their possessions have survived without burial in all when restive since the fall of Rome. Initially they were located in front of Aurelian Temple of the Sun and they have since moved in various settings in Rome before settling in their current location. Like the Palace of Senators before which they stand, many of these fountains built of travertine and this fountain is a magnificent blend seamlessly into the building.
You’ll find the third fountain in Piazza del Campidoglio in the garden of the Palazzo dei Conservatori. This fountain has been almost did not get its name because it’s more than a bowl with the usual statue installed. The statue, which was added to the plaza in 1903, shows a lion feasting on a horse that has been hunted. Although this fountain may not appear significant sculpture it is a real historical import. If you look at the lion you’ll note that it appears to show the influence of the affected water for a long time – it was actually found in the River Almo more than a thousand years ago, although its history before that remains a mystery.

Such a theft is more dangerous as it can lead to great harm and injury to the persons who are residing in the house.
